Is anyone else having issues with Bloglines? It keeps freezing up on me and crashing - WTF is going on!?!? Why haven’t they fixed it already!?

I stole this from Everybody Loves Saturday Night. I haven’t seen this meme before.
10 Inventions That Have Made My Life Easier
I like that this list can include any invention ever from any time period.
1. Email - Seriously. I hate the phone. Email me and you will get a response a thousand times faster than waiting for me to call you back. You will grow old and decrepit before I pick up the phone.
2. Text Messaging - See above.
3. Drive Thru Starbucks - I can’t believe it took them this long.
4. Online Bill Pay - No more stamps or bills getting lost in the mail!
5. The Hairdryer w. Diffuser Attachment - I have curly hair. I have no idea how I lived without this before I discovered it.
6. That Nail File That Makes Your Nails Shiny - Saves times and money on manicures
7. The Tanning Booth - I hate the sun. I hate being hot. The tanning booth solves my issues and gives me a yummy glow.
8. iPod Video - I hated carrying all my cds, my cd player, books, a dvd player, and multiple dvds on the plane.
9. Lasik Surgery - Wake up, look around, no fumbling for my glasses
10. Digital Cameras - Saves me so much time and MONEY not developing all those terrible pics you don’t want. Plus, saves me a ton of time scanning all those pics into the computer
Really, I’m not even going to show you the original it was so bad…peppered with acne, excessive shiney-ness, and multiple chins. Thanks to Pioneer Woman and some YouTube tutorials, I can show you this:

So, Saturday Wy and I ventured out to Sandusky for Corrie’s wedding. Sadly, I have no good pics to show. Wy has them on her camera and by the time she sends them to me, Corrie will be old and gray. If I ever get them, I’ll post them. Her dress was beautiful and everyone had a great time.
Wy was a little tired on the drive home. She’s not a good road-trip buddy…she always sleeps. I’m getting revenge since she makes me play the license plate game by myself…and because she doesn’t read my blog. I KNOW! My own sister doesn’t even care what I have to say!

She’s a hot mess, isn’t she?! So sexy when she sleeps. Quit drooling on my leather seats you camel! You can dress her up, but you can’t take her anywhere…
Saturday night we went out after we got back to Toledo. The first pic was taken at the Whiskey Ranch. I wanna know - how is it I spent 19 years in that city and when I go back, I never, ever run into anyone I know!? Isn’t that strange?
Sunday my mom made dinner and Wy, Mikey, Gram, and I ate over at mom’s house. It was a quick visit but it was nice to have dinner with everyone.
I didn’t get any of my desk done this weekend (obviously). Hopefully I will get it very close to being done this weekend.
I got another row done on Mary’s knitting project, but not much to show, so I’ll post a new WIP update next time.
Gotta get moving! Talk at you soon!
Is to not have to sit in an office surrounded by hypocritical, racist, homophobic Republicans.
HELP ME!!!!!!!
I think its time to dust off the old resume LOL
I saw this on someone’s blog this morning (I’m sorry! I can’t remember who’s!) but it made me giggle uncontrollably.
Among other things.
So I said I was trying to keep busy yesterday…here’s what I did. I meant to take “before” pics so I could post them with the “after” pics, but alas, I forgot.

You can see on the right hand side of the one pic what the desk used to look like. Its a really cool desk, an old oak teacher’s desk, I just want it to match my other furniture, so I’m painting it antique white. This is just the primer (which explains why its so sloppy). I had no idea this project was going to take so long!
In knitting news, here is my friend Jodi’s gathered pullover, you can see I’ve made some progress!

I really love the color and how the gathering looks. I didn’t do the decreases over the bust cause I think that looks wonky and strange having that line there. I’m hoping everything is going correctly with this, its my first “real” knitting project. I just have to do the sleeves and I’m almost done. Gawd I’m sick of stockinette!

What I don’t like: see that weird line near the top? Its where I changed from circular needle to straight. I got a weird tension problem there. Guess you live and learn. I can’t seem to get it right. I hope its less noticeable once I block it. Speaking of blocking, this sweater is looking pretty darn small…is that normal? I hope it stretches a bit. Jodi’s not a big girl by any means, but this thing looks like it would fit a 10 year old.
This is the other project I have going on right now:

This is for my aunt Mary’s bday. I’ve been working on this a lot and I feel like I’m getting nowhere! Do you know what it is? If you have an idea you can click here to see if you’re right. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, then I remembered, she can’t sign in to Ravelry! So far I like it, I hope this fits her…its kinda hard to knit for people who live thousands of miles away!
That’s all the knitting news I have. Nothing else crafty going on. Hopefully I will have finished desk pics soon. I wanted to finish it this weekend, but then I remembered, my friend Corrie is getting married, so I will be pretty busy. Wy (my sis) and I will be all dressed up Saturday for the wedding and reception, so I’ll try to get a good pic of us up here
Happy knitting!
I didn’t forget about Father’s Day. Truth is, I was just trying to keep busy so as not to dwell on it. My dad’s been gone almost 9 years now. Its still hard to believe sometimes. Sometimes I forget and just think he’s in Dallas still and that I haven’t seen him cause he’s far away. That’s what I like to think anyways.
So its not often that I like to talk about my dad or celebrate who he was. I’m going to do it today. And I don’t care who wants to say that I’m “idolizing” him or “only remembering the good things”. He wasn’t perfect. No one is. But I loved him anyways…and I always will.

That’s my dad holding me when he was about 21. Yes, 21, and balding. From the looks of it I was being cranky, probably completely irrational, and stubborn. I’m still like that sometimes. I get it from my dad.

This is my dad with my Pop-pop and Nana in Myrtle Beach. We used to go to Myrtle Beach every summer. I loved it there. I have great memories from our vacations. My dad was big on family vacations and family traditions. I hated it at the time, but I’m grateful for it now.
Another thing I hated at the time was that I couldn’t do ANYTHING without his camera in my face. Now I’m really glad he did that. I have soooo many pics of my childhood and my family. Its really great.
So dad, Happy Father’s Day. I love you and I miss you all the time.
I’d also like to say Happy Father’s Day to one of my other favorite dad’s…my Pop-pop.

That’s my Pop-pop and I at my baptism. Notice how much my dad looks like him?! My Pop-pop is so much fun. He always played with us and spent lots of time with us. He’s a wonderful grandpa. He taught me lots too. Especially things like how to seal a homemade boat so that it doesn’t sink when you put it in the water. How to make homemade ice cream. And most fun of all, how to do HIS chores as soon as my Nana left the house for the day. Yes, I still remember that, and NO I won’t stop reminding you.

I love my Pop-pop. Happy Father’s Day
I try not to post political stuffs on my blog, but sometimes you just can’t help it! I saw this on Feministing and had to re-post it
Katie Halper recently created some awesome (yet true and also sad) loyalty oaths for Hillary-turned-McCain supporters. Here’s the oath for the ladies:
The McCain Loyalty Oath for Women
I _______________ pledge to transfer my support from Hillary Clinton to John McCain. I agree to do all I can do to get McCain the vote. In order to achieve this noble goal I promise to support McCain’s…
As a woman I promise to apply McCain’s principles to my own life and vow to…
Once McCain is elected, I will continue to support him and I will not complain about my losing my right to choose, and other reproductive freedoms. And I will continue to refrain from pursuing equality for women.
Signature ____________
But I can’t friggin’ figure out how to embed this video in my blog so here’s the link!
Mac Cosmetics is having a sale! Check it out! If you can’t get to a Mac store, the online sale is Monday.

Other than that there’s not much going on here! I have a long list of things to do this weekend that include painting the desk I bought weeks ago from Craigslist. I’ll take some before and after pics if I actually get it done.
I started my aunt Mary’s bday knitting this past weekend. I’ll get some sneak previews up, but I can’t tell you what it is in case she checks here. (Not sure if she does cause my family never leaves me comments!)
PS - Its hot as hell here and I’m not happy about it! (and still pasty white).
